Capsule Geology

The area of the Sud showing is underlain by Permian sedimentary rocks and Pennsylvanian volcanic rocks of the Stikine Assemblage. The central argillite/siltstone package is in fault contact with a large body of Early Jurassic quartz monzonite of the Texas Creek Plutonic Suite.

Mineralization throughout the argillite/siltstone package consists of pyrite disseminations, clots and veinlets (up to 10 per cent) associated with lesser amounts of pyrrhotite (up to 5 per cent). Shear hosted quartz and quartz-carbonate veins consist of milky white bull quartz and when mineralized contain clots of pyrite and pyrrhotite with small amounts of visible chalcopyrite.

In 1989 the Sud 1 property was staked Schellex Gold Corp several rock samples collected yielded elevated assays in copper, zinc and silver. In 1990, Schellex collected 5 rock, 36 gold and 2 silt samples.
